Museum Cernuschi

Cernuschi guardAn accidental find, Museé Cernuschi

After a trip across town, I was surprised to learn that our original destination was closed. To make the best of our trek, we discovered that little more than a block away at 7 Avenue Velasquez is the Musée Cernuschi (Museum Cernuschi) and that, as a City of Paris museum, it is open on Tuesday. We were delighted to tour this mansion, commissioned by Henri Cernuschi to hold his extensive collection of Asian art at Museé Cernuschi.

The two level museum has 8 galleries ranging from the Neolithic period to the Liao and Song Dynasties. Rather than tell you about the breathtaking art, please refer to their website, or better yet, plan a visit to the museum. After touring the museum, take a stroll through the adjacent Park Monceau before stopping for lunch at one of the many cafés that line the adjacent Paris streets. Enjoy…
