Many of my favorite discoveries have come about after wandering around side streets looking for one shop, but ending up popping into someplace new to me. Such was the case when walking past the colorful window of La Bagagerie when I was on a mission to stop in to RB Boutique just up the road. Soldes (Sale) signs admittedly drew my attention, but once inside I was captivated by the extensive inventory of practical, neat looking luggage and beautiful new spring collection handbags.
Facing rue du Four, the handbags and accessories are displayed in the front of the store. New collections usually catch my attention, but this year with the bright orange and blue colors being all the rage, they stand out even more. Fun shapes, sizes and colors fresh off the runways made their way into this shop quickly after the fashion shows were over. Less expensive handbag options with the same styling as top designers are the specialty of La Bagagerie. Last season’s leftovers were nothing to sneeze at and were a “steal” – some great looking leather handbags were going for as little as 25€. I highly recommend shopping here for souvenirs for teenage daughters, granddaughters, nieces and special friends. They will be amazed with the style and designs which mimic top designer’s looks and don’t need to know how reasonably you picked one up.
Frequently, the gal pals underestimate the great bargains to be had in Paris and run out of room in their luggage and have to run out to purchase a cheap extra suitcase. I wish I had discovered this place years ago, but no sense in dwelling on the past. I am just thrilled with finding it now! Head to the back of the store to find their selection of name brand rolling hard cases, soft cases and carry-on luggage. The sales staff are very knowledgable and can help you select exactly the right piece for your future trips.
