We’re were in Paris, it’s time for tea at the Four Seasons in Paris. I was in Paris with my mother-in-law and her two daughters for the trip of a lifetime and as we all know, life is short. We began our day as typical tourists, viewing the Musée du Luxembourg’s Chagall Exhibition, touring the Luxembourg Gardens, and shopping. Then it was time to stop the frenetic pace and toast to life with a glass of champagne followed by an incredible epicurean spread of trés chic delights at the Four Season’s George V.
There are various options to choose from, but we felt it only appropriate to choose the High Tea “Célébration” menu below:
Glass of Champagne “Tête De Cuvée” (17 cl)
Your Choice of Tea or Hot Beverage
Assortment of Fine Savories
Selection of Pastries
Cannelé from Bordeaux, Madeleine, Financier
Home-made Scone Served With Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam
Pastry From our Trolley
Be aware that at the George V, hotel guests receive priority, particularly during the high travel seasons. If you are not staying at the hotel I recommend you arrive at 3:30 pm when tea begins and inquire about space available. You may have to wait a bit at the bar before being seated, but you will enjoy Le Bar I am positive!
Bring an appetite. High tea means copious volumes of yummy sandwiches and sweets. We knew this and thus skipped lunch and dinner.
Do check out the flowers by the incredibly talented Jeff Leatham while there. Fresh flowers are prominent throughout the hotel and during most of the year outside on the terrace. Each display is a work of art. We were thrilled that Jeff was actually there doing an installation the day we were having tea. I will write more about my floral idol later, but for now feel jealous that he sent fresh flowers to our table which were placed perfectly around the votives – an added personal touch. Le Sigh…
