Macaroons at Fouquet’s

In the heart of the action off the Champs Elysées,  Hotel Le Fouquet’s Paris has an energetic vibe that sets the tone for a refined and fun-filled experience in the City of Light. No matter if you are in town for business and crave a much-needed signature cocktail on the terrace in the cool and hip Galerie Joy bar, or if you are playing tourist and dream of an award-winning macaroon in a slice of French heaven at restaurant Le Diane, you will be well taken care of and feel special.

Legendary Status

The world’s best movie premieres are held at the effervescent and legendary Le Fouquet’s brasserie where engraved silver napkin rings are waiting for repeat clients. Hollywood favorites often stay here during their movie premieres and pose for photos that are in the lobby. In the back garden, reflections of both U.S. and French movie royals are posted as works of art.

The exceptional hospitality at Fouquet’s starts even before you leave the continental United States. After a reservation is made, your personal butler contacts you to inquire what amenities would make your stay more personal. Everything from what brand of sparkling or still water you prefer and whether you like sweet or savory snacks to what type of pillow pleases you. Forget a personal item? Your butler is on duty 24/7 to tend to your needs. If you are on the go, they will pack and unpack your suitcase and arrange for all your transportation needs.

Fouquet’s eclectic room

One of the first things noticeable upon check-in is the lovely scent filling the air and soft chimes that alert the front desk that you have arrived and they will get you up to your spacious chamber with dispatch. The high-tech rooms are equipped with mood lighting and electronic blackout shades as well as convenient plugs next to the bed for charging gadgets during your sleep. Luxurious bathrobes, slippers and the prima cotton towels were delightful.

Cocktails

Locals and tourists alike spend time sipping award-winning cocktails made by Stéphane Ginouvès. Stéphane has shaken and stirred his way to fame and was rewarded by receiving the honor of being a Meilleur Ouvrier de France for his profession. The title is given to those who excel at their skills in France. Delicious libations with clever names like Gravity and Iron Man are a huge hit as is their caviar martini. Recipes and secrets on how to make these amazing drinks will be in a future post – stay tuned.

Always dapper waiters at Fouquet’s

Ladies Lunching

Great people-watching can be done from the “see and be seen” Le Café that is located right on the prime real estate sidewalk along the Champs Elysées. Seasoned, friendly waiters in distinct red aprons are adept at knowing which clientele require fast service for a quick business lunch or hang back and allow “ladies lunching” to savor time together chatting over a glass of vintage champagne.

I’m sure these photos are updated by now, but still fun to see!

As with all of the Lucien Barrière Group properties, guests are treated as VIP’s at Fouquet’s where no request is too small and gastronomy appetites are well fed.

Sure, the hotel hosted my stay, but the first-rate service, creative cocktails, perfectly appointed room and delicious food made for a favorable review. As usual, the opinions are my own.
