O Chateau

A nice Sancerre with lunch

Sure, everyone loves to go wine tasting at Ô Chateau, but did you know they also have a hip and eclectic restaurant too with classic French cooking? We decided to have dinner at the Ô Chateau restaurant Paris one beautiful summer evening and see what the chef would offer us since he is supposed to specialize in fresh French ingredients. We began by ordering some heirloom tomato salads followed by entrées of Peking Duck and Swordfish. We split a fruity dessert because we were already full from our tasty meal and wine selections. The prix fixe menu is 36 € and the sommelier is happy to offer you one of their 40 wines by the glass to accompany each course or you may order a nice bottle.

Olivier and Gal Pal Mary Ann discuss his book Into Wine

Our evening began with a glass of Pierre Paillard Champagne each followed by a nice bottle of Gérard Boulay Sancerre which we split. We could have added a wine tasting of several different wines if we so desired. We found the wines delightful, as expected and the food at Ô Chateau divine. Honestly, Olivier lured me in with a complimentary glass of champagne, but nothing could make me write a good review if the what came after was horrible, especially because I was paying for it! We loved our food and would definitely go again. Bravo to the young entrepreneur wine school creator, Olivier Magny for leaping into the realm of French dining and scoring high marks for good authentic French food at reasonable prices.
