15 May Stairway to Heaven
If you told me I could only visit one museum for the rest of my life it would be no contest – The Louvre! It would take a lifetime to properly explore each and every piece in those hallowed halls. To me, as an art lover, this image represents the Stairway to Heaven…
var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-32113255-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);

Posted at 22:36h, 15 MayFor me, there are two. I tend to prefer small museums over the huge ones, and my faves in New York are the Frick Collection and the Neue Galerie. The Frick contains so many amazing works of art that I had only seen in my art history textbooks, but they’re on display right in Manhattan! The Neue Galerie specializes in German and Austrian art, mostly from the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Everything there, from the paintings to the design objects are astounding.

Ahhh, you can only pick one! 😉
Thanks for giving us some neat museums to think about. Thank goodness we don’t have to commit to just one!
Cheers,

Posted at 19:36h, 15 MayThe Louvre for obvious reasons (size, selection, history) but I also really enjoy the Musee Cluny for some of the same reasons. I could stare at those tapestries forever. I also LOVE the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Great, great exhibits…I’m a Member!
