Skip the elevator in the Hotel Sofitel, Dijon

The back staircase in the Hotel Sofitel in Dijon is gorgeous and the reason why I skipped using the elevator most of the trip. European hotels are full of lots of secret architectural treasures. Case in point photographed here…

I can honestly say I never use an elevator in hotels when I am in Europe. Many places I stay don’t even have them. I love the exercise and never pack enough to need an elevator. It’s just the way I like to travel.

      Hi Jeremy,
Love that you travel light! I try to, but don’t always succeed. The girlie shoes/boots do me in every time.
Totally agree with you about the stairs and how the elevators are usually scarce in the small boutique places I stay. Even if there is one, it’s usually so claustrophobic I take the stairs anyway.
Where are you now? What’s your next trip? Any Paris plans? We have a tweetup in January so plan to meet us there!
      Cheers,
      Priscilla

This is a perfect example of a picture worth a thousand words. Wonderful photo, definitely suitable for framing.

      Thanks Margo!
Think I will print it out and see if it is indeed frame worthy.
      See you soonish,
      Priscilla
