Tasting My Way Through Michelin-Star Restaurants in Megève, France

Today I am on my way to Chamonix, stop two of my Best of Alps summer tour and still feeling the buzz from tasting my way through Michelin-Star restaurants in Megève yesterday. A Relais & Chateaux restaurant, Le 1920 and ? were the scenes for an amazing lunch and dinner by two outstanding chefs. Gastronomy is alive and well in Megève.

Lunch at 1920 (named for the date in which the Baroness Noémie de Rothschild first visited Megève and deemed it a great destination for her family) was a tasting menu created by Chef Julien Gatillon at Hotel Chalet du Mont d’Arbois. Chef Gatillon is the newest local to receive a Michelin star. He earned it earlier this year at the ripe old age of 28; one of the youngest to receive such an honor. His dishes were creative, whimsical with summery punches of color. Each selection was plated perfectly and was so artful I hated to spoil them by taking a bite. Of course, I could not bare to stare at this gorgeous food for long, I yearned to devour it almost immediately after it was placed in front of me.
