Famous Poses in Paris

There are amazing spots all over Paris to stop and snap the perfect photo that captures the feel of the city.  The best spots could be in congested areas or across busy streets, but when you take the photo from the right angle you wind up with an incredible souvenir of your trip.  You know you’ve “nailed it” when you look at the photo and the feelings you felt at that moment come rushing back and warm your heart.   Digital photography makes it easy to come home with at least one of these special photos since you can snap away with reckless abandon.  In the “old days” it was expensive to develop hundreds of photos, but today there’s no excuse to return home without at least one fabulous photo.

Here are a couple of my favorite places to shoot from:

The “Locks of Love” Bridge, Pont des ?

Top of the steps at Sacre Coeur looking down the hill.  For an extra special effect, use the black and white mode.  It makes the quintessentially French buildings stand out and gives you the old world feel that exists when you stand there.

Along the Seine on Île de la Cité looking over the bridge to Île Saint-Louis. Winter or summer, these little islands in the Seine provide great backdrops with old buildings, water and bridges with plenty of exciting street artists to watch year ’round as well.

Of course, the Eiffel Tower provides a spectacular panoramic view of the city, but I love the shots taken from under the tower. Lay down on the ground and grab a group shot. No need to get the whole tower in the shot, sometimes the best photos are ones where only a slice of the tower shows.
